About
The SCP Centre is a 174,000 sq foot industrial/commercial building located in the heart of Meaford. This family owned business, was built by American company Amerock between 1950 and 1979, and at its peak employed over 400 local workers. Shuttered in 1982, the building was purchased in the 1990s by Terry and Maureen Scott who ran Scott Clay Products, who had outgrown their nearby building and were looking to expand. Scott Clay had grown into the largest clay pot manufacturer in Canada at the time, but changing markets, big box stores, and international competition eventually caused a wind down of the business, and the Scott's moved their focus to leasing out the cavernous building. During the tumultuous COVID years, SCP properties was born and management transferred to a 2nd generation. New energy brought many upgrades, a completed roof membrane, new high efficiency heating system, LED lighting retrofit, energy efficiency upgrades.
SCP Centre is now a bustling friendly community with 13 tenants, including a retail strip, commercial, industrial and warehouse spaces. There is also an intriguing 14,000 sq ft office building on the two city block property, which is being retrofitted to modern standards and would make an ideal medical, or professional office space. SCP Properties prides itself on being an attentive and professional landlord, offering low lease rates with no hidden costs. Our spaces have character, are clean, well maintained and have a focus on environmental sustainability.
